“members must be armed with a healthy curiosity”

The Casson Society

Named after Sir Hugh Casson (Old Eastbournian), the Casson Society exists to promote a deeper understanding of the world among the willing and receptive.
Members must be armed with a healthy curiosity and should be unafraid to venture away from their chosen field of study. The society is drawn from pupils in their final year at the school, with membership being gained by nomination. Members meet regularly to discuss a range of topics suggested by staff or members and are expected to contribute to a journal. The society's response to the contemporary world, Cassonalia seeks to nurture a marriage between inquiring minds emerging from the cocoon of school life and a world of complexity, oddity and controversy.
