Pupils also normally study one of Classical Civilisation and Latin for three periods per week and one of German, Classical Greek and Spanish for three periods per week. Special arrangements are made for pupils who wish to study three modern foreign languages.

Pupils may opt to reduce the number of subjects studied by one, in which case they have three periods per week of Supported Study.

Year 9 scholars also take part in an extended programme of activities via the Hayman Society.
