The College is proud of its strong sporting reputation, and works to develop links with other clubs and schools. Particular activities during 2009/10 include:

- College staff referee rugby matches at local feeder schools (independent and maintained) and local clubs.
- Eastbourne College staff coach county sides in their free time, eg Robin GIles coaches a Sussex development rugby side
- College staff coach cricket at Eastbourne Cricket Club on Sundays.
- Partnership with local Saffrons sports club re. hockey and crciket.
- Local prep schools and sports clubs, such as the Eastbourne Cricket Club, use College sports pitches for hockey, rugby and cricket.
- The two Astroturfs are used for county and regional hockey trials, for training and for tournaments, eg Sussex U11/U13 boys and girls hockey tournaments and the Ron Easton Memorial hockey tournament.
- The College is a recognised RFU training centre and runs courses on a regular basis.
- 'Total Rugby' courses are run using school facilities for boys and girls in the locality, aged 7 to 14.
- The College swimming pool is used for free by the local triathlon club.
- A swimming gala takes place annually in the school pool. Run by Eastbourne Swimming Club, it involves local primary schools (Langney, Ocklynge and St Johns Meads) and prep schools (St Bede’s and St Andrew’s).
- Rowing boats and boathouse space at Wallers’ Haven are lent to Bexhill Boat Club and Eastbourne Rowing Club.
- James Kirtley, former England and Sussex cricketer, coaches hockey and cricket at a variety of prep schools.
- Staff football and cricket teams enjoy playing local village sides, home and away.
- Local triathlon club use the College pool three mornings per week.
