“we ask all parents to ensure their children return each term with the official uniform requirements”

Uniform

The College believes strongly in the importance of school uniform in creating the right setting for education and school life.  Some guidance for parents on particular school uniform issues from Mark Turnbull, Deputy Head, is set out below.

Dear Parents

Uniform and Clothing Regulations

As you know, the College believes in the importance of school uniform and our clothing regulations are clearly set out; you will find a copy of the relevant clothing list in your end of term papers. We would ask all parents to be scrupulous in ensuring that their children return at the beginning of each term with the official uniform rather than what may seem fashionable to their son or daughter.  In particular, I would be grateful if you would note the following.

  • All pupils are required to have a suit to wear on formal occasions.
  • All pupils are required to wear black polishable shoes.
  • Pupils should wear white shirts that are long enough to be permanently tucked in!
  • The College does not approve of pupils being in school with dyed hair. Anyone returning to school with dyed hair may well be asked to return home or stay away until normality has been satisfactorily restored.
  • There are clear and unequivocal guidelines concerning the wearing of jewellery in the girls' clothing list, and parents are asked for their support in this matter.

If you have any doubt over whether an article of clothing conforms to our clothing regulations, please do not hesitate to consult with your son or daughter's HsM or with me in the office.

Thank you for your co-operation in these matters.

Yours sincerely

Mark Turnbull
Deputy Head
