The seventh Eastbourne College Foundation Golf Challenge, sponsored by the thriving local IT company M-Tech Systems, took place at the Royal Eastbourne Golf Club on Thursday 7 July. The annual event, which continues to grow, raised funds specifically for the Peter Bibby Award which enables local cricketers to benefit from a College education.
Twenty-two teams took part and 105 sat down for dinner at the end of a great day's golf. The rain held off till all were safely in the Club House! Peter Bibby's daughter Mirren handed out the prizes, and the Challenge Trophy was won by Michael Gietzen (R01) and his team from Identity Live Communications. Thanks to Martin Lulham (Pw91) for M-Tech's headline sponsorhip, MKK Sports for providing the very smart golf shirts, RBS NatWest for the goody bags and to all our other loyal sponsors, generous players and supporters who enabled us to raise nearly £20,000 on the day for the Peter Bibby Award fund.
We were delighted to introduce the first recipient of the award, Harry Finch, during the course of the evening.
