Peter had a lifelong love of most sports but in particular, cricket. In the early 1980s he became responsible for the Colts section at Eastbourne CC and committed himself to supporting and developing the areas young cricketers, nurturing many youth players and supporting them for the individuals they were. During his time in Eastbourne Peter became a friend and supporter of staff, pupils and parents at the College.
Peter gave an enormous amount of time and commitment to giving youngsters the opportunity to play and learn about the game he so loved. His contribution has changed the lives of many boys over the years in the same way that a sound education provides opportunities and changes lives.
This award, in memory of a man who was passionate about cricket and education, is therefore a very fitting tribute and memorial to Peter and one, we think, he would approve of greatly.
Peter's Walk 2012 will take place on Sunday 22 July. It is organised by Mirren Mace and Mary Bibby. Contact mirren@peterbibbymemorialbursary.com for details. It is a fun day out for all the family walking from the Tye in Alfriston to Eastbourne via the Seven Sisters with a delicious home made picnic en route.
