“...inter-table brain games and a delicious meal”

The scholars' dinner

Saturday evening saw the first ever academic scholars’ dinner hosted by Assistant Head, David Ruskin, and attended by the College’s academic scholars, the Headmaster, the Deputy Headmaster and five other members of staff.

In a formal setting, the aim of the evening was to celebrate the achievements and contribution of our academic leaders in the school and to build ever more solidly the sense of identity and intellectual excitement within this key college community.

With a backdrop of images from all scholars’ events during the year and with examples of scholarly activity on the tables, diners were treated to wonderful food and engaged enthusiastically in an inter-table brain game competition.

Natasha Askaroff, Julia Howell, Tom Hutchinson and Chris Morgan spoke eloquently and interestingly from the floor and the evening was completed by a challenging and stimulating speech from Rev Peat on Absolute Goods and the dangerous cocktail of money and scientific research.
