The College’s co-curricular programme is an important component of the wider curriculum, and the College intends to continue to offer pupils the opportunity to engage with a range of opportunities beyond their lessons. The attached directory outlines the opportunities available for pupils in the academic, creative arts, exercise and sports domains, as well as some more general ones. It is with great regret that we are taking measures that will heighten anxiety but difficult times call for us to make the decisions that best protect our pupils and the rest of the community. Thank you for your support with our approach.

Gareth Jones and Tom Lawson (headmasters)

Minibuses stand by to help pupils with transportation and the ECi schools will conduct a deep clean of the boarding houses, following the advice of Public Health England.

We would like to take this opportunity to reassure everyone that pupils and staff at ECi schools remain a low risk as individuals, and that there are no confirmed cases of Covid-19 recorded at either of the ECi schools, or any confirmed cases of those connected with the schools at the present time. ECi medical staff and school leaders continue to work with local healthcare professionals to actively monitor pupils (and where possible those connected with them) and staff.

The ECi Critical Incident Team (CITECi) continue to meet daily to evaluate the dynamic situation, taking the necessary steps to safeguard the continued education for those in our care. At the request of CITECi, the Eastbourne College Deputy Head (Academic) released a letter to parents of the College this evening, detailing how the school would shoulder the challenge of distance learning. A similar letter was released by his counterpart to the parents of St Andrew’s Prep.
