On Thursday 23 January the College was fortunate enough to tempt John Ryley (OE), Head of Sky News, to talk to the Upper Sixth and members of the Eastbournian Society about the importance of news.
He explained how technology has transformed the way in which the news is reported and digested. He gave a wonderful insight into his life at the heart of public consciousness and the responsibility that comes with this. He shared the secret of becoming a captain of industry – to study hard the subjects they enjoy, to write (type) English grammatically and accurately, to reflect on all that they do, and to make the time to find out about people and organisations before meeting them.
