Steeplechase 2024
Last week, our school community came together for the highly anticipated annual inter-house steeplechase, an event that showcases not only athleticism but also teamwork and school spirit. The stunning Sunshine Coast once again provided the perfect backdrop, with the picturesque South Downs National Park serving as the starting point for our eager participants.
Runners took on distances ranging from 3 to 7 kilometres, each one pushing their limits while navigating the beautiful yet challenging hills of the park. As they set off, the energy was palpable, with cheers from supporters echoing through the trees. The course led them through scenic trails, where the natural beauty of the landscape added to the excitement and motivation to conquer the distance.
The finish line awaited along the stunning seafront at Western Lawns, where the anticipation grew as participants made their way toward the coast. The atmosphere was electric, filled with camaraderie and encouragement from fellow students, teachers, and families. As each runner crossed the finish line, they were greeted with cheers and applause, celebrating their achievements and the spirit of competition.
A big shout out to Mr Harrison and his amazing team, along with Eastbourne triathlon, for their hard work in organising this fantastic event. Their dedication ensured that everything ran smoothly, allowing participants to focus on giving their best. From the logistics to the safety measures in place, their efforts did not go unnoticed.
