Academic Challenge Day
On Tuesday 25 June 76 Year 6 pupils from nine different schools gathered at Eastbourne College to enjoy a day of challenging, but fun, academic activities.
On arrival they were welcomed to the College by Headmaster, Simon Davies before being divided into four colour-coded teams. After a series of short ‘ice-breaker’ exercises on College Field, the teams embarked on the first of four specially designed activity sessions – maths, English, science and modern languages.
The participants thoroughly enjoyed their lunch in the College Dining Hall and were given the opportunity to watch some cricket before returning to their progamme of activites. When their parents arrived to join them for tea in the Birley Centre at 4.00pm, everyone was tired but still bubbling with enthusiasm about the challenges of the day.
