Good character is not formed in a week or a month but through protracted and patient effort. Our co-curricular programme provides our pupils with the further opportunity to develop good character in a range of contexts. Our core co-curricular provision includes three terms of sport and exercise for all with opportunities ranging from hockey, rugby, netball, athletics, badminton, basketball, sailing through to mountain biking and our popular PAW (Pilates, aerobics and walks) programme.
We also imbue in our pupils a sense of service, whether it be through our strong Combined Cadet Force offering or through supporting our homework clubs, helping a range of charity organisations or with our environmentally focussed groups.
Opportunities for creativity abound through our strong drama, music, dance and art programmes including interhouse singing and ‘a capella’ competitions and our hotly contested Young Musician of the Year Awards. And we are rightly proud of our Platinum Arts Award too.
In addition, there is an extensive choice of clubs and activities on offer, over and above the core academic and co-curricular provision. Clubs range from cage football, debating, e-sports, MUN, photography, podcast recording, shooting, touch-typing, singer/songwriter.
Pupils play an important role in shaping their programmes through the annual ‘Pupil Voice’ survey where they get their say. E-sports, dog-walking and shooting have all proven to be popular additions to the programme that have been borne from their ideas.
