Eastbourne College Swimmers set a New Record at the ESSA 67th Secondary Team Championships
Our swimming team delivered an exceptional performance at the ESSA 67th Secondary Team Championships, held at Sandwell Aquatic Centre in Birmingham. Due to the strength and depth of swimmers the College has, the team entered the main boys and girls competitions including thousands of schools across the country, meaning they could not compete in the new smaller mixed relay format offered this year. The senior girls team achieved success in the Freestyle and Medley relay, increasing their national placing from the qualification. The senior boys gained further qualification for the final of the Freestyle relay and swam faster in the final to be placed an impressive 7th.
Led by our captains Amelie H, Matt C and Nate C, this marks the best collective set of national results in the College’s history. Our swimmers demonstrated resilience, teamwork and ambition. A huge congratulations to all our swimmers for such an amazing achievement.
