PHYSICS LABORATORY TECHNICIAN

Eastbourne College is seeking an experienced laboratory technician to coordinate the use of resources and facilities and provide assistance and advice in meeting the practical needs of the physics curriculum.

The College’s state-of-the-art science centre gives all pupils access to cutting edge technology. All four teaching laboratories on the physics floor are fully equipped with interactive white boards, data-logging facilities and the very latest teaching aids. The computer network serves each laboratory as well as the computer suite.

There is an emphasis on practical work in the department, and pupils are encouraged to make full use of our extensive apparatus to improve their experiments during investigations.

The successful candidate will have a strong science background and, ideally, knowledge of basic electronics and electricity, including how to use a multi-meter, and be capable of lifting heavy classroom equipment on occasion.

Working hours are 10 hours per week, term time only. Fixed term contract until 31 August 2026.

purchase ledger, trips & expenses Assistant

Eastbourne College has a vacancy within the Finance team for a Purchase Ledger, Trips and Expenses Assistant.

The role will ensure invoices are authorised by the relevant budget holder and correctly posted to the purchase ledger with accurate VAT codes.  They will manage activities to process staff expense claims, in line with the Charity’s expenses policy and prepare weekly BACS payments for all suppliers.

This position requires a detail orientated individual who can manage records, problem solve and assist in the overall efficiency of the accounts department.  A basic knowledge of input VAT rules and experience in running a purchase ledger for a busy organisation will be required, along with strong IT skills.

This role is full time, all year round.

Salary: £27,000 p.a.

Minibus Drivers

Eastbourne College is looking to recruit a Minibus Driver during term time only, to transport pupils safely to and from defined pick-up points to the College.

A full clean driving licence including D1 category to drive minibuses is essential.

Fixed term contract until 31 August 2026. 

Working hours: Monday to Friday: 5.30 pm-8.00 pm, and Saturdays 7.30am to 9.30am, total of 14.5 hours/week, term time only.

Salary: £6,732 per annum

Registrar, UK Admissions

(Full time, all year round)

Eastbourne College is looking for a Registrar, UK Admissions to join the ECi Marketing and Admissions team.

It is a really exciting time to join the team with lots of great initiatives in the plan to enhance the recruitment of new pupils and enrolment to the College. This role works alongside an International Admissions Lead, and reports into the Director of Marketing and Admissions (DMA) for Eastbourne College and St. Andrew’s Prep and will be supported by Admissions assistants.

The position requires someone who is personable, with relevant experience in schools’ admissions, excellent organisational, leadership and communication skills and endless initiative. They will need the confidence to be able to interact positively with a wide range of different people both externally and on a College-wide daily basis. It is essential that the individual has good working knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook as well as the ability to learn internal systems quickly and efficiently.
