Eastbourne Junior Schools’ Swimming Gala
On the evening of 27 September, Eastbourne College was delighted to welcome fourteen teams of young swimmers from Eastbourne junior and preparatory schools. This was the sixteenth annual event.
Teams of boys and girls from the following schools competed for the coveted trophies:
Langney Primary School
Moira House Prep School
Pevensey and Westham Primary School
St Andrew’s Prep School
St Thomas a Becket Junior School
Tollgate Junior School
The competition was close, with swimmers participating in breaststroke, backstroke, butterfly, freestyle and two relay races. Every school was extremely well supported by parents, siblings, friends and teachers.
The results for this year’s gala were as follows:

In addition to trophies and medals being awarded to the victorious teams, a special Headmaster’s Award is presented each year to the team who achieve the greatest improvement on their previous year’s result. This year the proud recipient was the St Thomas a Becket Girls B team.
The College is very grateful to the officials of Eastbourne Swimming Club who kindly volunteer to help at this event each year.
