Lower Sixth Futures programme launch
Our Lower Sixth pupils have started to think more seriously about the steps they will take after leaving Eastbourne College. January saw the launch of this year’s Lower Sixth Futures programme. Pupils reviewed the results of the Centigrade assessment they undertook in December and set up their BridgeU accounts. The Centigrade activity showcases potential career options for pupils based on their preferences, interests and strengths and identifies potential courses at university. BridgeU is the school’s official software for continuing that university and course search, creating shortlists for review and further research, keeping all ideas in one place, accessible from phone, tablet or PC.
Giving pupils time to research and consider their options is a central part of the role that the Futures department plays in preparing pupils for life after Eastbourne College, and we are thrilled to be able to guide and support our pupils throughout this critical moment in their lives. Besides providing pupils with support towards their university applications, the department also plans initiatives for those who want to explore university alternatives.
