Film Showcase – A Lonely Rhythm, by Mark Burnham

For those who did not have the opportunity to come along to the Jennifer Winn Auditorium on Friday 17 January, here is the short film, A Lonely Rhythm, by sixth former Mark Burnham (background below).

The film is about siblings. More specifically, the film explores how powerful the bond of siblinghood can be, and the loss of such a bond; especially for twins.

Some scenes may be upsetting for some viewers.

The film began life in December 2018 after Mark discussed story ideas and created a draft outline plan with the help of fellow sixth former Charlotte Imbert (Nugent).

It took eleven months more (between academic study, sport and other commitments) before the film was completed in November of 2019. A Lonely Rhythm was showcased to the College community on 17 January 2020, along with an excerpt from One Note At a Time by professional documentary filmmaker Renee Edwards, who co-hosted the showcase. Renee’s film took ten years to make and received top reviews.

Mark submitted the film for his Gold Arts Award, Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award, and used it for his US university applications to USC, NYU and UCLA where he hopes to study film production.
