On Thursday 25 April an exhibition of Eastbourne College art scholars’ ceramic work was unveiled at St Michael and All Angels Church in Berwick. The ‘Birds at Berwick’ exhibition is an installation created for the Church and is the product of a collaboration that began in September 2012. The beautiful ceramic birds will be on show there until June.
The occasion of the unveiling was a magical spring evening at the Church, attended by the parents of the scholars, staff and friends of Eastbourne College and residents of Berwick and the surrounding villages.
The eleven scholars were the perfect guides for the evening and the event was punctuated by Reverend Blee’s welcome and introduction to the art at Berwick, a wonderful reading by Katya Goodwin (Year 9 Watt), a welcome from Lara Whitmore (Year 10 Nugent ),and a thank you delivered by Samuel McClure (Year10 Craig). Lisken Jellings (Year 13 Blackwater) performed the very fitting Spring Movement from Vivaldi’s ‘Four Seasons’. She was accompanied by the College’s Director of Academic Music, David Force.
